Check IE Compatibility Issues with Sauce Labs & modern.IE

April 2nd, 2013 by Ashley Wilson

Today we’re excited to announce we’ve teamed up with Internet Explorer to bring our automated testing service to modern.IE.

The modern.IE Compactor Inspector tool, now powered by Sauce Labs‘ cloud-based test infrastructure, allows you to automatically scan your website for common compatibility issuie_logoes that often result from building for Internet Explorer 10 and 9 while supporting older versions of IE. No coding is required to check out your website–simply enter in a URL and the result is a line-item list of suggested fixes.

Further, you can automatically run a dynamic code scan on Sauce’s cloud right from the modern.IE website. This returns a screenshot and more detailed report of your site that can help improve its compatibility and performance.

To instantly check how your own website fares in Internet Explorer, visit the modern.IE homepage and enter a URL in the Compactor Inspector scan bar. And to learn more about this modern.IE update as well as others announced today, visit the IEBlog.

Happy (Internet Explorer) testing!

  1. DR says:

Went to the page and attempted to run the scan on each of 3 URLs.
    One refused to scan.
Two caused “server fault” with a mess of .NET messages.

    Not impressed.
